The Cowichan Trail Stewardship Society is excited to announce the return of BC Bike Race to the Cowichan Region in 2019. BC Bike Race (BCBR) is a 7-day stage race that attracts racers from all over the world to ride a selection of singletrack trails on Vancouver Island, The Sunshine Coast, The North Shore and Squamish. In 2018, the CTSS hosted day 1 of the race which featured a 40-kilometer course that showcased the trails on Mt. Tzouhalem, Maple Mountain and Mt. Richards.

Bringing BCBR to the Cowichan region provides both a short-term and long-term eco-tourism boost to the area with riders visiting the trails in preparation for the race and then revisiting our region in subsequent trips, as well as spreading the word about our beautiful area in general.

As the host region for Day 1 of the race (July 6, 2019) the CTSS will be busy preparing our trails for the big day as well as organizing volunteers and cheer stations. If you are interested in volunteering for this event, keep an eye on our FB page and our newsletter as we will be releasing more information throughout the year.
